01 The short version
Blitz got popular for a good reason. It was the app that made lock-in-to-loadout feel instant, it covers a pile of other games, and it runs standalone without dragging Overwolf along. If you've used a League companion, there's a decent chance it was this one.
The thing worth knowing before you settle in: the free version carries ads, and the Masters+ builds sit behind Blitz Premium at $4.99 a month, or $3.33 if you pay for the year. The builds from the players you'd most want to copy are the paid ones.
Warden doesn't have a paid tier to put anything behind. Every build in it is the same build for everyone, and there's no ad in the corner while you read it. If you're still shortlisting, the roundup of League companion apps puts all five side by side.

Figures come from each app's own store page or site, checked August 2026, and cover the champ select job: getting the right runes, items and augments in before the loading screen. Overwolf-hosted installers pull the Overwolf platform down with them, so the listed size is the installer rather than the finished footprint.
03 What comes with Blitz
Breadth, and a price on the part that matters. Blitz spans League, TFT, Valorant, CS2 and Apex from one install, and it runs standalone, so there's no platform to get through first.
The free tier gives you ads and the general-population builds. The Masters+ builds sit inside Premium at $4.99 a month. Across five games that might be a fair trade. If you only play League, it's a subscription for one game's builds. If Porofessor is the other name on your list, we put Blitz against Porofessor on its own page.
04 Where the builds come from
Every night we pull the current patch from Data Dragon and CommunityDragon and rebuild the recommendations from match data, rather than reprinting someone else's tier list. Win rates get ranked on a Wilson lower bound, which is a long way of saying a 58% win rate over 40 games doesn't get to outrank a 53% over twelve thousand. The small-sample noise stops floating to the top, which matters most on the champions nobody plays.
Mode changes the model, not just the item list. Rift builds are role-aware, so mid Ahri and support Ahri don't get handed the same page. ARAM weights sustain and poke, because you can't go back. Arena ranks augments alongside the build, because the augment is usually what decides the round.
Warden itself is a native Windows app, which is why it's 26 MB and opens instantly instead of starting a browser engine to draw a list of item icons.
The honest take
Blitz is broad and charges for the depth. Warden is narrow and gives all of it away.
One game, one job, and nothing held back: no ad slot, no subscription, and the same builds for everyone regardless of what they've paid. If you play League and you were paying $4.99 a month to see the builds worth copying, Warden hands you those for nothing.
