Delve 0.14.0 makes cleanup reviews easier to use on Mac.
Review dropdowns now have full-width click targets: click the arrow, label, or row to expand and collapse them.
Long item lists scroll within their cards, keeping the other cleanup categories and unreadable-location details reachable.
Category reviews and unreadable-location details expand independently.
Mac validation and release builds now run on our self-hosted Apple Silicon Mac through GitHub Actions.
Releases verify notarization, installer checksums, and the Sparkle update signature before updating automatic updates.
Includes the Select All, cleanup safety, Undo, and saved-space improvements from 0.13.1. Caches, logs, and generated build data use Move to Trash and Undo; deleting items already in Trash remains permanent and requires acknowledgement.
For Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 Monterey or later. Windows is unchanged.
Added Select All and Deselect All to cleanup results.
Fixed cleanup sizes reaching the total cleaned-up space counter. Undo subtracts successfully restored items, and tracked Trash items are not counted again when permanently deleted.
Xcode cleanup now targets generated build and index data while preserving package checkouts.
Cleanup skips data for identifiable running apps and continues to recheck changed, unreadable, or linked items before removal.
Selecting Trash requires a separate acknowledgement that permanent deletion cannot be undone. Caches, logs, and generated build data continue to use Delve's existing Move to Trash and Undo flow.
Added the total cleaned-up space to the cleanup screen.
Caches are intended to be replaceable, but individual apps may need to regenerate or download data again. Quit affected apps before cleaning. Moving items to Trash frees disk space after Trash is emptied.
For Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 Monterey or later. This patch updates the Mac app only.
Start with Free up space: scan app caches, old logs and crash reports, Xcode build data, and Trash.
Review categories, sizes, and individual items before choosing Clean Selected. Nothing is selected automatically, and personal document, photo, settings, and backup folders are outside the cleanup scan.
Cleanup rechecks items before removal and skips changed, unreadable, or linked locations. Quit apps before cleaning their caches or build data.
Cleanup items move to Trash with Undo support. Removing items already in Trash requires explicit confirmation and is permanent. Disk space is freed when Trash is emptied.
Trash folders now offer Empty Trash instead of trying to move Trash into itself.
Explore Storage keeps folder scans, disk maps, and file browsing available.
Improved window and pane layouts, plus clearer Full Disk Access setup and Quit & Reopen help.
For Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 Monterey or later. This release updates the Mac app only.
Incomplete scans now display a persistent “Scan incomplete - permission required” banner, access instructions, and a list of blocked paths.
Unreadable folders show “Permission denied” and unavailable sizes instead of appearing empty. Partial totals use “+” to indicate the known minimum.
Fully blocked scans explain that contents could not be read, rather than claiming no space is used.
Recovery guidance distinguishes macOS privacy restrictions from folder permissions. Warnings clear after access is restored and the folder is rescanned.
Validated with 147 automated tests and interactive checks of partial scans, fully blocked scans, recovery instructions, and a successful rescan after restoring access. Apple Silicon and macOS 12 Monterey remain the minimum target; actual macOS 12 and 13 runtime testing remains outstanding.
Fixes the window layout crash when the first folder scan finishes and reveals the inspector.
Uses one resizable split view for the sidebar, workspace, and inspector on every supported macOS version.
Adds a real-window regression test covering first scans, rescans, resizing, and focus changes. The test reproduces the 0.12.0 layout exception and passes with the fix.
Validated with 144 automated tests and interactive scans using the normal interface, including a 329-item generated folder. Apple Silicon and macOS 12 Monterey remain the minimum target; actual macOS 12 and 13 runtime testing remains outstanding.
Extends the Mac deployment target to macOS 12 Monterey on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer).
Adds compatible workspace panes, sortable and selectable file tables, Settings actions, and sunburst input for older macOS versions.
Fixes a launch-time split-view layout crash.
Checks the app and all embedded Apple Silicon binaries against the advertised macOS minimum before packaging a release.
Updates About Delve with the current release highlights.
Saved table column customization is available on macOS 14 and newer. Intel Macs are not supported.
Validation includes the full automated Mac test suite, a Release build, embedded-binary minimum-version checks, and sample-folder UI checks with Monterey interface paths enabled on the development Mac. Actual macOS 12 and 13 runtime testing remains outstanding.
Filter the File Types panel: a funnel in the panel header opens a searchable checklist of every extension in the scan, with Show All / Hide All. Hidden types drop out of the table. Toolbar cleanup: the treemap/rings switch moves beside the view controls, Whole Disk and the category menu come out (the sidebar already lists every volume and category), and the zoom chevrons now appear only once a scan has finished.
Your account now lives in a profile badge at the right end of the toolbar - available on trial, not just after buying - with the account and license panels and sign in/out hanging off it. It shows your initial when signed in. The folder path field loses its dark backdrop and reads as a plain address bar.
Fixes the trial badge and the Account and License menu items, which opened nothing. If you tried to sign in and the button appeared to do nothing, this is why - it now opens Settings on the Account tab as intended.
Sign-in now happens on auth.khaosstudio.com instead of a generic Supabase URL, so the window that asks for your Apple ID is recognisably ours.
Under the hood, your account details now come from a single shared Khaos Studios profile rather than being duplicated per app. Your existing session carries over - you will not be signed out by this update.
Your account now lives where you'd look for it. Settings (⌘,) has General, Account, and License tabs. Signing in, your referral code, and license activation used to be buried in the app menu under "License…" - they're in Settings now.
The trial badge became an account button. It sits at the far right of the toolbar, and once you've bought Delve it becomes your profile badge instead of disappearing. Clicking it opens your account.
Referral rewards are visible in every state. The 25%-per-friend ladder used to hide in a popover that vanished the moment you purchased. It's now in the Account tab, with the tiers you've earned checked off.
Your license and trial now actually stick. A keychain bug introduced in 0.8.8 meant Delve was unable to save anything to the keychain at all - silently. Licenses, trial state, and your account details were being written and thrown away.
If you've bought Delve, you may need to enter your license key once more. It never got saved before; after this update it will persist properly and you won't be asked again.
If you're on the trial, your 14 days start from this update. The trial clock was never able to record when it began, so it restarted on every launch.
Quick Look with the space bar - press space to preview whatever's selected, anywhere in the window: a treemap tile, a sunburst slice, a folder row, or a Top Folders entry.
A more honest inspector list - the top list now summarizes the level you're actually looking at, using its immediate children. Folders and files are kept apart, and the header tells you which you're seeing: a flat folder full of videos reports "Top Files" instead of pretending they're folders.
Toolbar fixes - the path placeholder truncates with a real ellipsis instead of clipping mid-word, and the field squeezes down far enough that the category, focus, and metric controls stay inline at the window's minimum width.
Referral links - invite links are now khaosstudio.com/r/CODE rather than a raw Supabase URL, and the click window for attribution is a week instead of six hours.
Critical fix: v0.8.9 could fail to launch on some Macs (Sign in with Apple entitlement incompatible with Developer ID). Sign in with Apple now works for the referral program.
Delve 0.12.3 adds an easy way to empty the Windows Recycle Bin.
Choose Empty Recycle Bin… from the Delve menu or the moved-files window.
Cleanup actions on scanned Recycle Bin contents now open the empty-bin confirmation instead of attempting to recycle internal bin files.
The confirmation explains permanent deletion across all drives, including files moved outside Delve. Keep items is the default.
Emptying clears session Undo. Partial failures explain how to review remaining items.
Fixed the About window check for releases without Windows-specific highlights.
Installed Windows x64 copies receive this release through the existing signed automatic-update feed. Portable copies require the installer for automatic updates.
Validation includes core tests, source and packaged UI checks, native Windows rendering and Recycle Bin fixture restoration, and disposable hosted installation/update/uninstallation tests. The native empty-bin API was also exercised on a disposable virtual disk; existing drive bin totals stayed unchanged.
Windows remains a developer preview without trusted Authenticode signing. The update feed is authenticated with the existing RSA signing key.
[Hosted release validation](https://github.com/snacbot/delve/actions/runs/38108752509) passed, including upgrade from Windows 0.11.0. After publication, the actual updater verifier accepted the live signed feed and verified the public installer download's size and SHA256.
Delve 0.11.0 improves Windows whole-drive scan speed and requests administrator access by default.
Delve requests administrator access once at launch. If you decline or elevation is unavailable, the original process opens normally and drive scans do not prompt again that session.
NTFS scans read larger metadata batches and use up to four parsing workers.
Cloud-folder exclusion checks avoid rebuilding and normalizing a full path for every file.
Scan status shows elapsed time and the scan method. Fast-scan fallback reasons are available in scan warnings.
Diagnostics distinguish fallback and result preparation without storing fallback messages or file paths.
Five alternating warmed trials on the development C drive (about 5 million files) reduced median scan time from 9.50 to 6.98 seconds, and scan plus indexes from 11.44 to 8.89 seconds. Memory increased about 3.6%; live-volume counts varied slightly, so these measurements are not a stable-snapshot parity claim.
Built and validated locally on Windows x64: core tests, source and packaged UI checks, native Win32 rendering/DPI, native metadata/DPAPI/callback checks, and Recycle Bin fixture restoration. Includes the installer, portable ZIP, SHA256 checksums, signed update manifest, and validation report. The installer is built locally; installed upgrade/uninstall integration is reserved for disposable Windows runners.
Windows remains a developer preview without trusted Authenticode signing. The update manifest is authenticated with the existing signing key.
Delve now downloads updates automatically, installs quietly, and reopens without download/install dialogs or an installer wizard.
Updates wait for active scans, cleanup, tutorials, dialogs, staged cleanup items, and session Undo history.
Your scan location and exclusions are saved and rescanned after reopening.
Preferences and account data are preserved.
If installation fails, the available app reopens and reports the failure in the status bar. Automatic retries pause for that session; Check for Updates can retry.
Signed manifests and installer size/SHA256 verification remain in place. Windows itself is never restarted.
Copies running 0.10.0 or earlier use their existing update prompts once to install this version. Subsequent updates use the quiet flow.
Includes the Windows x64 installer, portable ZIP, checksums, and validation evidence. Windows remains a developer preview without trusted Authenticode signing.
Delve 0.10.0 adds an About Delve / What’s New screen and polishes protected-file cleanup warnings.
See the installed version, build, and release highlights from the Delve menu.
Protected Windows files appear in a compact dialog with clearer text, theme-matched styling, and scrolling for larger lists.
Improved whole-drive scanning and administrator relaunch, with clearer notices for inaccessible files.
Essential Windows files stay protected. Permanent deletion requires its own confirmation.
Update checks run shortly after launch and every five minutes while Delve is open.
License activation and referral rewards have new celebrations.
Includes the Windows x64 installer, self-contained portable ZIP, SHA256 checksums, and validation report. Existing installed copies can update through the signed Windows update feed.
Windows remains a developer preview without trusted Authenticode signing. The matching Mac About feature is committed to main; a signed and notarized Mac binary is not included in this Windows release.
Delve 0.9.1 for Windows x64 adds automatic update checks every five minutes while open, plus a manual Check for Updates… command in the application menu.
Updates use a signed release feed and verify installer downloads before opening the installer. Installation prompts preserve control over when Delve closes. Scans, cleanup, and tutorials defer update prompts.
This release also keeps map navigation aligned with browser selections across folders.
Existing Windows 0.9.0 copies need one manual installation to get the updater. Future releases will be offered through the signed Windows update feed.
Windows developer preview: the executable and installer are not Authenticode-signed. The update feed is cryptographically signed. Includes a per-user installer, a self-contained portable ZIP, SHA256 checksums, and validation evidence. Portable copies require the installer to enable automatic updates.
Download the setup EXE for a per-user installation, or extract the complete portable ZIP and launch Delve/Delve.exe. No separate .NET runtime is required.
This developer preview has been validated on Windows 11 x64. It includes treemap, sunburst and Files views, file previews, the Collector, Recycle Bin cleanup and same-session undo.
The app and installer are unsigned. Windows may show a security warning. Updates are manual; an authenticated automatic updater is not included. ARM64 downloads are not offered in this preview.
The attached SHA256 files verify the installer and portable ZIP. validation.json records the successful native checks and source revision. Built on delve-pc from clean source revision 1f36da5edea295b87d2a093f427bca6ec43787ba.
Mac users should continue using the latest Mac release and its Delve.dmg download.
