A sunburst lays out the folder hierarchy in rings. It can be a useful way to follow a path into a large directory. A treemap allocates rectangular space to files and groups them by folder, making the relative size of neighboring items visible.
Neither layout is universally easier. Try a familiar project or media folder. Look for the largest item, then return to the parent folder. Choose the view that keeps you oriented.
DaisyDisk lets you collect items before removal. Its deletion guide says the final action permanently deletes files rather than moving them to the system Trash. GrandPerspective supports file removal from its view; review the app’s settings and confirmation before acting.
A preview helps identify a file, but it does not prove that a project or application no longer needs it. For managed libraries, backups, and developer tools, prefer the owning app’s cleanup controls.
